PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wire rope for pulling up a single crystal, capable of preventing the swinging of a hanging tool on the pulling of the signal crystal and further improving the yield of the single crystal ingot in stead of a conven tional round bar for hanging a single crystal-pulling device, and to provide a terminal-attached metal wire rope for pulling up a single crystal. SOLUTION: This metal wire rope for pulling up a single crystal is formed by twisting plural heat-resistance element wires 10 produced from either of W, Mo and their alloy, respectively, is provided with three or more primary twisted wires, and has an elongation of =5% at 900 deg.C. The terminal-attached metal wire rope for pulling up a single crystal is formed by fitting a heat- resistant terminal having a pair of pressing parts for nipping one end of the metal wire rope comprising a heat-resistant material and used for pulling up the single crystal to the end of the metal wire rope. The pressing parts have V- or U-shaped grooves on their outsides and projections corresponding to the grooves on their insides. The projections are formed, when the grooves are press-formed.
