The apparatus and method of centering Kangaishu machined surface

PURPOSE: To rationalize the centering of the pipe outer peripheral machined surface of a deformed pipe or the like by temporarily placing a pipe body on a pallet surface plate, horizontally in a specified state, inserting a centering jig, fitted to a layout machine, into the pipe body, and adjusting in a specified method so as to equalize the contact pressure between each contact terminal of the centering jig and the inner surface of the pipe body. ;CONSTITUTION: A pipe body T is temporarily placed on a surface plate B, facing the tool rest of a NC machine, horizontally with the machined surface opened in the reverse direction to the tool rest. A layout machine is fitted opposedly to the opened face of the pipe body T, and a centering jig 2 is fitted to the center thereof. The contact terminals 28 of four linear gage sensors 21 of the centering jig 2 are contracted by pushing and inserted into the end face opening. Expansion-contraction is then released to bring each contact terminal 28 into pressure contact with the inner peripheral surface, and the layout machine 1 is put in three-dimensional motion so as to equalize the contact pressure of each contact terminal 28 for position adjustment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
