PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make partial vapor deposition which is a means for adjusting electrical characteristics, such as the frequency, surely executable and to eliminate the need of the maintenance of a metallic mask and, at the same time, to prevent direct waves and suppress electromagnetic noise generate by circuit elements. ;SOLUTION: A surface mounting piezoelectric filter is constituted by housing a piezoelectric vibrating plate 2 on which exciting electrodes are formed and a metallic mask 3 which is positioned above the plate 2 and has masks 31-33 for adjustment at the positions corresponding to the exciting electrodes in a case 1. A lower mounting section 11 for mounting the plate 2 and an upper mounting section 12 for mounting the mask 3 are provided in the case 1 and electrode pads which are electrically connected to lead-out electrodes are formed on the sections 11 and 12. Therefore, the mask 3 is electrically grounded through the lead-out electrodes, because the mask 3 is electrically connected to the electrode pads.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
