PURPOSE: To obtain a metal carrier with a structure with excellent durability which is not broken even in the case where a severe heat cycle of heating and cooling and an intense mechanical vibration are applied. ;CONSTITUTION: In the metal carrier for purification of exhaust gas produced by bonding a metal honeycomb core body 6 formed by winding up a flat sheet 2 and a corrugated sheet 1 and a metal outer cylinder surrounding the outer periphery of the metal honeycomb core body 6, the bonding part or the flat sheet 2 with the corrugated sheet 1 and the bonding part of the outer periphery of the metal honeycomb body with the metal outer cylinder are constituted of a plurality of string-like or belt-like bonding belts.
