PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of mounting in the method of mounting a noise absorption and insulation rubber material to the external wall plate of a ship, etc., by vulcanizing and bonding the noise absorption and insulation rubber material to a mounting steel plate to form a noise absorption and insulation composite material, and fixing the mounting steel plate of the composite material to the external wall plate. CONSTITUTION:A mounting steel plate 10 made of the same material as the external wall plate 2 of a ship or a marine structure, is prepared in a land based factory differ ent from a dock, arranged on the side opposed to the external wall plate of the noise absorption and insulation rubber material, heated and pressurized in a vulcanizing pan (not shown on fig.) to form a vulcanizing-bonding layer 11, and both the absorption and insulation rubber material and the mounting steel plate are vulacanized-bonded to obtain a noise absorption and insulation composite material 12. Mounting of the noise absorption and insulation composite material 12 is performed by fixing the mounting steel plate 10 to the external wall plate 2 by welding or with bolts, etc. Mounting of the noise absorption and insulation rubber material 3 to the external wall plate 2 can thus be positively and reliably performed.
