PURPOSE: To realize a precise track settling operation by providing push servo sectors having position information on a track number, a servo burst edge or the like on a data storage face at the time of positioning the head of a transducer in one track on a rotary data storage device. ;CONSTITUTION: A sector pattern is buried in the concentric data track on a disk face and absolute position information is supplied to a disk drive control circuit containing a head position servo loop through a data transducer head 102 constituted of heads 102a to 102c on a specified data storage face. The intervals 10 of the servo sector pattern passing through the head 102 are sampled and held for processing them in the control circuit. Then, position control information on the track number, the servo burst edge, a location, a vernier head or the like are detected by using the interval and they are positioned in prescribed positions of the head 102.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
