The invention relates to a method for intensifying thetreatment of the precursor by amyolidene way in patients sufferingor for whom there is a risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, andto a method of prophylaxy or treatment of Alzheimer's disease byreducing the production of A4 in such patients, by administeringan effective, nontoxic quantity of the acetonitrile compound tothe patient. The invention also relates to the application of thecompound for the production of medicamentous composition which isused in the method, and to a formulation used in the same method.
