Monofilaments for making paper machine clothing, filters or elastomer-reinforcing inlays - comprise copolymers of (A) 85-99 mol.% repeat units of formula (I) and (B) 1-15 mol.% repeat units of formula (II): -OC-R2-CO-O-R3-O- (II) R1, R3 = divalent (cyclo)aliphatic alcohol; and R2 = (cyclo)aliphatic or single aromatic ring dicarboxylic acid. The copolymers are also claimed.
