PROCESS OF REMOVING NITRATES FROM WATER BY MAKING USE OF STRONG BASIC ANION EXCHANGE RESIN

摘要

The method of removing nitrates from water using a strongly alkaline anion-exchanger with functional group of triethyl ammonium or tripopyl ammonium or tributyl ammonium consists of putting a strongly alkaline anion-exchanger, in the form of a hydrogen sulphate form, into contact with water containing nitrates. After saturating the exchanger in nitrates a regenerative solution of sodium, potassium or ammonium hydrosulphate is applied to the exchanger and the achieved solution containing the nitrates is subjected to electrolytic reduction. After electrolysis the solution is supplemented with sodium, potassium or ammonium hydrosulphate and the strongly alkaline anion-exchanger, saturated in nitrates, is used again as a regenerative solution.
