The harvesting unit (1) is suspended from tractor (2). A plough iron (3) removes a net which contains the crop. A first transporter (4) has an endless belt. Behind the first transporter is a second transporter (5) with endless belt. Where transporters (4,5) meet is a drop gap (6) where excess soil returns to the soil surface. A guide screen (9) guides soil sideways back to the soil surface.
