Dustbin, particularly for hospital waste

The dustbin comprises a bottom part with sidewalls extending upwards to an annular horizontal top surface with openings, and from whose outer edge a skirt extends downwards. A top part has locking members engaging in the openings, also an opening with lid. The members consist of protrusions (14) from the top part and with spring locking portions (13) at their free ends extending towards the top part. A release ring (17) has corresponding openings or recesses, so that when it is inserted between the skirt (9) and the bin sidewall (4) the members are freed. The width of the openings in the ring can be the same as that of those in the annular surface, and a seal, typically consisting of flexible lips, can be mounted between the top part and the top edge of the bin sidewall.
