摘要

Calcium hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2; HA) and tri-calcium phosphate (Ca3(PO4)2; TCP), which are two inorganic compound widely used at artificial bone applications and having high biocompatibility have been prepared as composite, two-phase uniform ceramic powder mixtures and by using pure calcium nitrate tetra-hydrate and di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate salts dissolved in the water based solutions, as homogeneous and high purity powders by means of single phase chemical precipitation method. It has observed that derived precipitates reach 99% purity (in total of both phases) after drying at 75 degrees C and then calcinating at 700 degrees C in air for 6 hours. By applying the mentioned chemical synthesis method, HA-TCP composite ceramic powders have been produced between 20% and 90% HA concentration range (remaining part is TCP) by increments of 10%. It has been observed that produced composite powders have 0.7 mm average particle size and spherical shape in general.
