PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a woody plate material of high grade feeling having contact feeling of woodgrain pattern very similar to a desired natural tree on the surface of the woody material such as timber obtained by veneer, plywood or lumbering. ;SOLUTION: In the case of embossing a wood surface pattern of a conduit hole on the surface of a plate-like woody material A₁, an embossing roll 3 formed by projecting the wood surface pattern conforming to the woodgrain pattern to be desirably obtained is used, the surface of the material A₁ is embossed in recess state of the wood surface pattern, inked by an ink supplying unit to the embossed part, and then printed with the pattern coincident with the wood surface pattern embossed on the surface by a printing roll 8 to obtain the woody plate material having desired woodgrain pattern.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
