A thermal deformation member (1) forelectron tubes or current controllers composedof a multilayer body formed by stacking a highthermal expansion member (1) made of, forexample, an Fe-Ni-Cr alloy, an intermediatemember (4) made of one kind of metal selectedfrom among Fe, Al, and Cu or an alloycontaining some of the metals, and a lowthermal expansion member (2) made of, forexample, an Fe-Ni alloy. The coefficient ofthermal expansion [err] of the intermediatemember (4) is greater than that [err] of the lowthermal expansion member (2) and smaller thanthat [err], the high thermal expansion member 1([err] [err], [err] ). The intermediate member (4)reduces the manufacturing cost and improvesthe workability without deteriorating thestrength and long-term reliability of themembers. A color picture tube is manufacturedusing the above-mentioned thermaldeformation member for electron tubes in thethermal deformation section of a frame holderone end of which is fixed to a panel and the other end of which is firmly stuck to the mask frame of a shadow mask. An overcurrent protectoris manufactured using the above-mentioned thermal deformation member for current controllers in the thermal deformation section whichopens a contact.
