HUMAN MACROPHAGE INFLAMMATORY PROTEIN 2-ALPHA

An attempt to identify the human counterpart of murinemacrophage inflammatory protein 2 unexpectedly resulted innot but two candidate sequences, designated hu-MIP-2[err] andhu-MIP-[err], respectively. By using the DNA sequences andrecombinant systems provided by this invention, one canobtain hu-MIP-2[err], one of the two human counterparts tomMIP-2, substantially free of other human protein. Thisinvention also provides antibodies reactive with hu-MIP-2[err]polypeptides as well as immunoassay methods for determininghu-MIP-2[err] and nucleotide probes for detecting nucleotidesequences encoding hu-MIP-2[err] in biological samples.
