The dilution water at the same temp. as the spreading level in a processing part or spreader boom is pumped to produce a density-stable soln. at work level and to the water is fed on a controlled basis a calibrated pptn. soln. produced in a tank, controlled in its speed through the water by a speed indicator and a control unit, after which the mixt. is fed down to the spreader boom for further diffusion in the bottom water.
