compact proton linear accelerator for 5 and 200 mev for adroterapia

摘要

The proton linear accelerator of 0.8 to 32pJ includes a classic type injector based upon a four pole radio frequency focusing (RFQ) operating at a frequency of 750 MHz, and a section for accelerating the protons up to about 11.2pJ. This section comprises a linear accelerator structure with slide tube and lateral coupling(SCDTL), a magnetic system relay with a possible deflection of 180 degrees, which permits a beam of protons to be reflected so as to reduce the construction volume. A further section has a linear accelerator structure with lateral coupling (SCL) fed by a klystron, designed to accelerate the proton beam upto about 32pJ.
