The compressor block (14), fixed to the motor stator (15) within a sealed casing (11), contains a cylinder (20) with a horizontal axis, having a reciprocating piston (19). The motor rotor (16) is fixed on a vertical shaft (17) whose rotary motion is converted by a connecting rod (18) eccentrically mounted on the shaft end. The counterweight (21), attached at this point below the connecting rod end, counterbalances the forces transmitted by the piston to the shaft, whose tendency to vibrate is much reduced.
