摘要
A fluorination catalyst based on an amorphous chromium (III) compound and a compound of another metal selected from magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, scandium, titanium and zirconium has an atomic ratio of chromium to the other metal of 50-1:1. The compounds are supported on a support selected from aluminium trifluoride, (fluorinated) alumina and carbon. The catalyst is prepared by impregnation of the support with a concentrated aqueous solution containing soluble salts of Cr (III) and the other metal in a molar ratio of 1-50. The impregnated support is dried at 100-120[deg]C, treated with an inert gas flow at 300-400[deg]C for 5-15 hours and then activated with an anhydrous hydrogen fluoride flow at 300-400[deg]C for 15-30 hours. Also claimed is a process for the fluorination of halogenated hydrocarbons in the gaseous phase using the above catalyst.
