The two piece container (10) comprises larger tapered open ended outer pot (11) with an integral vertical hollow stem (15) extending upward from the inside flat bottom of the pot. The outer pot houses a smaller inner pot (12), to hold cultivating material, having a closed flat top (2) and open bottom end, both pots being made from a suitable rigid material such as plastics. The inner pot creates a chamber into which water can be stored and delivered upwards through holes and channels formed in the side walls of the pots, by capillary action, to irrigate the plants being grown in the cultivating material.
