The invention relates to a method for Colorimetric Determination of NADH THROUGH OXIDATION ENZYME WITH benzyl alcohol hydrogenase UNDER reduction of a nitroso compound AROMATICO of formula IA quinonediimine COLORED wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, ARIL or alkylene optionally substituted by carboxy, PO3H2, DIALQUILFOSFINIL O SO3H, amino optionally substituted once or twice with alkyl, optionally BE REPLACED AGAIN hydroxy, PO3H2, SO3H or carboxy YR a radical GENERATOR COLOR THROUGH AN eLECTRON conjugating quinonediimine SYSTEM. The invention further relates to a corresponding MEDIUM WELL AS A chromogenic nitroso compound of formula I and their use for Enzymatic Colorimetric determination a sample.
