This comprises a power supply, an electronic oscillator that generates the resonance frequency of the ultrasound transmitter and receiver, a counting circuit for measuring the propagation time and implicitly the density of the mixture of gases between transmitter and receiver, a trip logic circuit for control, an alarm circuit that activates the optical and sound alarm signals and a probe holder that carries the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver and which will be installed in the areas of the building where gas concentrations are likely to be detected. The foregoing elements, with the exception of the probe, will be located in a containing box. The probe- holder will be connected to this by means of flexible cables.
