Pressure vessel that can be coupled via supply and/or discharge pipes to peripheral auxiliary systems, which pressure vessel is suitable for containing a substance which is preferably pourable and preferably at a temperature of at least approximately 500 °C and with a pipe opening out in the pressure vessel for supplying to that substance a flowable, pourable processing agent such as a fluid, a gas or a powder, for which that pipe is coupled to a source situated outside that pressure vessel and which pipe is made such that the mouth of that pipe is adjustable while the pressure vessel is operating, in order at will to bring the level of the operation of that mouth higher or lower in the vessel.
