The invention relates to a method for producing at least one beam-splitting shaped body made of transparent material, in which a beam-splitting layer (10) is embedded. Two radiation transparent plates (80, 81), one of which is coated with a beam-splitting layer (10), are interconnected in such a way that the beam-splitting layer lies between the two plates (80, 81). Subsequently, this plate composite structure is further processed into individual prismatic bars (52), for instance by sawing in pattern lines and stripes and polishing the side surfaces or sawing in profiles.
