The invention relates to a device for casting metal strips, especially steel, in double roller continuous casting machines with counter revolving rotating casting rollers (1) wherein liquid metal is introduced to an area between the rotating casting rollers defined by two side walls (4i), and the gap between the side walls and the rotating casting rollers is sealed by means of a sealing device (4) to produce electrodynamic forces acting along the gap substantially parallel to the surface of the casting rollers, wherein the sealing device (4) is configured in such a way as to continuously adapt the electrodynamic forces to the metal static pressure or approximately to the metal static pressure of the liquid metal.
