Air separator for a milk collector cart

The air separator has a separation container (1) coupled to a suction line (7) for receiving the milk and to a feed line (8) leading to a collection tank, with a variable pump (9) inserted on one or other of these lines, controlled via a regulator (6) in dependence on the detected level in the separation container. The regulator increases the feed rate of the pump in steps when the level in the separation container rises and reduces the feed rate when the level drops, so that the level is maintained above the height of the suction line.
