The device can be obtained by treating the corresponding prefabricated implantable device of polymeric material without addition of one or more agents with an organic solvent or combinations of solvents, which interacts with the implantable device in such a way that at least one of the pharmaceutically active substances which has a molecular mass which is lower than that of the polymeric material of the implants is able to penetrate into the polymeric material of the implant, after removal of the organic solvent of the pharmaceutically active substance or substances initially remain in the polymeric material of the implantable device and after implantation of the implantable device the contained pharmaceutically active substance or substances can be released again by diffusion.
