MULTICOMPONENT ANALYSIS OF FT-IR SPECTRA

A procedure for analyzing a multicomponent FT-IR spectrum of an unknown mixture of gases, wherein coefficients xj of Eq. (1) is determined and the partial pressures of the pure gases in the mixture are obtained by multiplying the measuring pressures of the corresponding library spectra by their coefficients in the linear combination; in which procedure a solution of the optimization proble of Eq. (4) is obtained through fulfilling the coefficient vector (7); the inner product a|b is defined according to Eq. (8) and the Eq. (7) is settled according to Eq. (9).
