The invention provides an elastic transition from a flexible, suspended wire assembly to a rigid conductor rail using an elastic coupling whose flexural strength progressively increases between the contact wire head and the conductor rail. The coupling is performed in series, i.e. with no lateral misalignment between the conductor rail and the contact line. With the device according to the invention, the spring beam can be easily adapted to meet the operational requirements and to the operating speeds required of the traction vehicule in particular. This is achieved by adapting the shape and spacing of the recesses, the spring beam being easily adapted to meet any operational requirements but remaining simple to manufacture. The coupling area is mechanically perfectly adapted to the rail section particularly as regards flexural strength and allows an uncritical, low-loss electrical coupling of the sections via the contact surfaces with the inclined upper and lower sides as well as with the longitudinal ribs.
