The current rail and the socket-plug connector are made in one piece from a strip material section. Two adjacent contact springs (5,6) of different lengths are formed by slots (7,8). The longer contact spring (5) engages over the end edge of the shorter contact spring (6) with an angled section (5') forming its contact zone. The longer contact spring is wider than the shorter one. Both contact springs are curved up towards the plane of the current rail so that part of their lengths remain in the plane of the contact rail.
