PURPOSE:To simply take out a water pump unit stored in a chain chamber in which it is driven by a timing chain, and to avoid increasing the size of a flange part. CONSTITUTION:A pump housing 44 is fitted in a pump attaching part 3 in a chain casing rear part 4 in which a chain chamber 6 is defined. An access opening 51 which is covered with a cover and through which the pump housing 44 is introduced into and out, is formed in the front surface of the chain chamber. A female thread part 60 which can be threadedly engaged with a puller bolt 61 having a diameter lager than that of a fixing bolt 47 is formed at the inner periphery of a through-hole 57 through which the fixing bolt 45 pierces, and which is formed in a flange part 44a of a pump housing 44. During removal of a pump unit 32, the puller bolt 61 is screwed into the female thread part 60 after the fixing bolt 45 is removed, and is then gradually tightened in order to pull out the pump housing 44.
