Band-limited interpolation and projection method and apparatus for spatial 3-D images

Band limited 3D image data sets are interpolated before being projected onto the 2D image plane to improve image resolution. The 3D MRA image data set is divided into sub-volumes that are interpolated separately and projected onto the 2D image plane. Interpolation is performed using discrete cosine transform (DCT), zero-filled to extend the transformed subvolume, and inverse transform of zero-filled subvolume.
