The present invention relates to a technique for utilizing waste tires and waste oil pyrolysis residues as asphalt concrete reinforcement. Carbon black, the main component of pyrolysis residue, not only improves the durability of asphalt concrete but also has good dispersibility in asphalt. In order to use the residue as asphalt concrete reinforcement, it is necessary to know the mixing ratio of the appropriate residue and asphalt and the amount of binder (asphalt + residue). For this purpose, a mix design of asphalt concrete with residues was designed for highway and national road layers. Wheel tracking and labeling experiments were conducted under appropriate conditions (mixing ratio, binder loading) to investigate the effect of residue addition on the dynamic stability and wear resistance under cold conditions. As a result of the experiment, the dynamic stability increased more than two times by the addition of residue, which means that the wheel dent phenomenon will be remarkably reduced when constructing the asphalt concrete reinforced with residue. Considering the main factors of road breakage due to domestic road conditions, pyrolysis residues will greatly contribute to the life extension of pavement. The amount of wear caused by the chain was also reduced by about 25%, which is a natural result in consideration of the effect of improving the wear resistance of carbon black tires.
