Here, a PN code generator having a PN code generator that generates the same PN code as a pseudo noise (PN) code of a received signal, and a correlator that obtains and accumulates correlations between the PN code generated by the PN code generator and a received signal, respectively. With tracking loops, a method of tracking a PN code signal by sampling a received signal frequency shifted to baseband in each of multiple paths having different characteristics is disclosed. In order to enable the PN code to be traced without degrading the performance even in a multipath fading channel environment, the integral length of each PN code trace loop is adjusted according to the time correlation value. As a result, since only the size of the integrator of the correlator needs to be changed, the performance of the PN code tracker can be prevented from being degraded without a large hardware change.
