The present invention relates to an induction motor rotor temperature estimation algorithm for a vector controller.;A method for estimating the rotor temperature of a vector controlled induction motor having a rotor time constant which is a major factor in ensuring torque linearity of an induction motor, the rotor resistance of the induction motor being sensitive to temperature variations,;In order to estimate the rotor temperature in real time using the temperature and torque current of the stator, a thermal model between the rotor and the stator is constructed, and the rotor current is calculated by the torque current flowing in the rotor during vector control. The temperature of the rotor is estimated in consideration of the thermal resistance between the rotor and the rotor, and the rotor temperature algorithm is introduced to the vector controller and used as a real time slip gain compensator.
