Paper machine fabrics include a system of machine direction (MD) yarns intermingled with a system of cross machine direction (CD) yarns. The MD chambers are a pair of the first MD chamber and the second MD chamber. Each pair of the first MD chamber and the second MD chamber are different from each other. The first MD chamber has a generally rectangular cross section with a predetermined width and thickness. The second MD chamber may be generally rectangular or circular in cross section. The second MD chamber is narrower than the width of the first MD chamber when it becomes generally rectangular in cross section. The thickness or diameter of the second MD chamber is equal to or less than the thickness of the first MD chamber. Each pair of first and second MD yarns are woven with CD yarns as a single yarn side by side throughout the fabric.
