NON-LINEAR MEDIUM GLASS AND NON-LINEAR OPTICAL GLASS USING THE SAME

The glass having an excellent nonlinear optical properties, transmission rates, molding processabilities, durabilities and chemical resistance was prepared by extracting semiconductor components, heat-treating dissolved and persaturated glass of semiconductor components at room temperature. The glass composition comprises 30-50 mol% of SiO2, 25-45 mol% of B2O3, 5-10 mol% of Na2O, 5-10 mol% of CaO, 5-10 mol% of Al2O3, G2O2 less than 5 mol% and one semiconductor component selected from CuCl, CuBr, CdS, CdSe, CdTe as a chemical semiconductor component. The chemical semiconductor component has a weight ratio of CuCl 5 wt.%, CuBr 5 wt.%, CdS is less than20 wt.%, CdSe is less than 20 wt.%, CdTe is less than 20 wt.%. These optical glass are composed of transparent and homogeneous medium glass and nm size of semiconductor particles.
