The present invention relates to an antimicrobial peptide isolated from Korean toad (Bufo bufo gargarizans). The antimicrobial peptide of the present invention is composed of 39 amino acid residues having a molecular weight of about 433 Da, and exhibits strong antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram- Venus bacteria and yeasts. Therefore, the antimicrobial peptide of the present invention may be used as an antimicrobial agent, and may be developed as a wound healing accelerator, a traumatic agent, a mouthwash and eye drops.
