The present invention relates to novel substituted salmon calcitonin (salcatonin) analogs as shown in the following sequence, wherein R_OneIs-Cys-SH or Cys-S-OH, or an ether of an alkyl group of 2 to 5 carbon atoms or an ester thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or isomer thereof; R₂Is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group or an ether of an alkyl group of 2 to 5 carbon atoms or an ester thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or isomer thereof, or acetoamaridomethyl or an equivalent thereof. These analogs have medical properties for the prevention and treatment of diseases such as osteoporosis, hypercalcemia, Paget''s disease, and are also useful as analytical agents.
