The present invention relates to a new class of inorganic-organic hybrid thermoset polymers and ceramics formed from a novel linear polymer of varying molecular weight and varying carboran content. The novel organoboron thermosetting polymers and ceramics show a differential scanning calorimetry plot of heat flow versus temperature in nitrogen, containing unsaturated cross-linking moieties and obtained at a heating rate of 10C / min as shown in the figure.
