Synthesis is carried out from oxovanadyl (IV) hydroxide and L-malic acid or sodium L-hydromalate. The synthesized complexes Ia and Ib decreased blood glucose concentration in rats with experimental (streptozotocin) diabetes mellitus. Invention relates to new oral antidiabetic agents.
