FIELD: polymerization catalysts. SUBSTANCE: known method of preparing chromium-containing compounds, such as chromium pyrrolides, by way of preparing a mixture of chromium salt, metal amide, especially metal pyrrolide, and electronodonor solvent, such as ether, followed by interaction with saturated compound is improved by using pyrrole or its derivatives as pyrrolide and alifatic compounds as unsaturated hydrocarbons. New method of preparing catalytic system includes mixing metal source, pyrrole-containing compound, and metal alkyl omitting stage of preliminary interaction of metal source and pyrrole-containing compound in presence of electronodonor solvent. These catalytic systems and chromium-containing compounds, by themselves or applied on inorganic oxide-based carriers, may, if necessary, be used as co-catalysts jointly with polymerization catalyst, such as chromium- and titanium-containing catalysts, for trimerization, oligomerization, and polymerization of olefins.
