FIELD: construction; erection and operation of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: in manufacture of welded straight-seamed pipes, revealed zones of concentration of stresses are marked to introduce correction factors for rated resistance. In welding the pipe line, marked zones are located beyond level of underground water; to this end, pipe line is laid 0.2 m higher or 0.2 m lower relative to underground water level from lower or upper generatrix of pipe line, respectively. Level of underground water is regulated on operating pipe line by means of supporting walls, drainage canals or by deepening the pipe line. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
