SUBSTANCE: invention consists in implanting metal and nonmetal ions into boundary layers of tool using pulses with frequency (ν) and duration (τ) found from relationship τν= 2•10-3-15•10-3. For example, implanting C+ and T+ ions into surface layers of steel cutting die 1.5 times increased its microhardness and 2 times wear resistance. EFFECT: increased hardness and wear resistance of tools and reduced (about twice) treatment duration.
