A waste disposal process and apparatus are claimed that combine incineration (26) and fermentation/composting (25) processes. Organic residues (19) are composted (21) and the resulting gases (22) and waste water (27) are collected. The incineration furnace (10) receives combustible gases (22) via a gas pipe (30) from the composting assembly (21). Inorganic residues (20) are incinerated using gas (22) from the composting assembly (21).
