The mattress comprises at least two close-fitting foam mattress parts, lying next to one another. The mattress parts (1,2) have interlocking connection members (3,4) on one or both sides, in the direction of longitudinal axis of the bed. The connection members may extend partway or completely along the length of the mattress parts. The connection members may comprise hook and loop fasteners, or they may be shaped as interlocking teeth. The teeth may be round or have rounded or angled undercuts, or there may be a combination. The connection members are machined with the mattress in one-piece, and are arranged so that the mattress parts can be fixed together horizontally or vertically.
