This new method removes pollutants from sintering plant (1) waste gases (2). Powdered adsorbents (4) are injected and entrained into the gas flow (3). Adsorption of pollutants is effected in the flying dust cloud produced. The gases then pass through an electrostatic precipitator (5), where pollutant-laden adsorbent is extracted from the now-cleaned gases (7), which may be exhausted (8) to the stack (9). The fine lignite coke is used as adsorbent. The objective is a gas with residual pollutant levels below permissible limits, to which end the following adsorbent parameters are controlled: quantity, total area, specific area, and residence time. The pollutant-laden adsorbents (11) are re-cycled back to the sintering process.
