The self-supporting wall construction includes a flat internal wall shell (2) and an outer wall shell (3) are connected over connecting elements (4). The wall shells (2, 3) and the connecting elements (4) are formed from modular, prefabricated components (5). The components are preferably formed as disk-shaped modules which are arranged horizontally side by side in rows, and a number of rows are arranged vertically, one on the other. The connecting elements are preferably formed as vertically proceeding, disk-shaped modules which are arranged vertically to the wall shells.
