Noise-damping hose, especially for air-suction system of internal combustion engine

The hose comprises a part of the air-suction line made of porous material. It consists of a self-supporting coil of flat netting made of plastics filaments. The coil is made of a diagonal band from a continuous strand of netting material cut off to the required length. The plastics filaments are welded at the cut-off points. The first and last layer of the coil are joined. One or both ends of the hose are welded or are enclosed by a ring of the same type of plastics as the netting.
