A childrens roundabout for playgrounds or gardens, comprises a support column which is anchored in the ground, with at least one arm attached to it. The arm ends have childrens seats, and the arm is rotated by muscle power, using an actuating member and a gear mechanism. An advancing rod (9) is located in guides (14) inside the arm (7), and the rod is linked to actuating levers (11) on the seats (8). The translational movement of the rod is converted into a rotational movement by the gear mechanism. The gear mechanism has press rollers (16) which roll on the running surfaces (17) of a multi-cornered rotational member (15).The rod preferably consists of a polyamide material.
